The Skydrix ecosystem

Receive. Deliver. Record. Watch.

Bring satellite reception, stream delivery, programme guides, and recording into one connected workflow. Run your headend with Skydrix, build a TV archive with SkydrixDVR, and watch live or recorded programmes with Skydrix Desktop.

From headend to screen

A connected broadcast workflow.

  • Skydrix: reception and stream control
  • Skydrix Agent: dedicated transcoding
  • SkydrixDVR: server-side TV archives
  • Skydrix Desktop: live TV, Guide, and Time Shift

Skydrix · Control & operations

Your broadcast operation, in one view.

Receive DVB-S and DVB-S2 satellite services, manage transponders and channels, and configure authorised Softcam or BISS access from a focused Linux-native web interface.

Keep signal strength, SNR, adapter lock, bitrate, and channel health in view. Scan services, organise your lineup, and track stream errors without losing sight of the whole headend.

Transponders, channels, and live operational telemetry.

Channel settings · Input / Output

Shape each channel's path to the viewer.

Combine satellite or network inputs with backup sources, then distribute each channel to one or more UDP, RTP, HTTP MPEG-TS, or HLS destinations. Configure reception, access, and delivery together in the channel's Input / Output tab.

Stream timing controls help with difficult sources: a small stabilisation buffer smooths packet delivery, PCR correction repairs timestamp jumps while preserving audio/video synchronisation, and No Sync uses wall-clock HLS timing instead of PCR pacing. These controls improve timing; they do not recover lost packets.

Skydrix Pro · EPG

A programme guide that stays in step with your channels.

Choose from a configurable catalog of EPG providers and map each channel to the schedule that fits it. Review programmes by day, check coverage, and set provider time offsets where needed.

Scheduled updates refresh provider channel lists and programme data automatically. Generate a consolidated XMLTV file for middleware, TV applications, and compatible end-user devices, so the same guide can follow your streams throughout the ecosystem.

Skydrix Pro · Live Preview

See what your channel is actually delivering.

Open Live Preview inside channel settings to check picture and sound without leaving the control panel. Preview satellite and supported custom HLS streams, with playback diagnostics and programme information where available.

When a stream cannot play directly in the browser, automatic FFmpeg fallback can adapt it for preview, copying compatible video or transcoding when required. FFmpeg must be installed on the Skydrix server and fallback enabled.

Skydrix Pro · Transcoding

One channel. Multiple qualities. Dedicated processing.

Build adaptive HLS outputs with reusable profiles for resolution, video and audio bitrate, GOP, and segment settings. Select profiles per channel and publish a master playlist linking the generated renditions.

Use software or hardware encoders supported by the agent's FFmpeg installation, including H.264, HEVC, AV1, and VP9. Capability checks help match each rendition to a suitable agent.

Skydrix Pro · Sun Outage

Plan for the moments when the sun interrupts reception.

Around the spring and autumn equinoxes, the sun can align behind a satellite as seen from your dish. Solar radio noise can briefly degrade or interrupt reception even when your equipment is working correctly.

Calculate expected interference windows using your site's coordinates, satellite position, dish diameter, and frequency. Review results in the local timezone and use Telegram reminders to prepare operators for the start and end of predicted outages.

Skydrix Desktop · Windows

A clear view of every channel, from your desktop.

Connect to one or more Skydrix Pro servers and bring live television into a dedicated Windows application. Watch a single channel in detail or monitor several channels together in Multiview.

Browse channels by server or genre, search the programme guide, and move from overview to fullscreen playback. Live viewing and recorded programmes share the same workspace.

With DVR enabled, Time Shift puts live TV on your schedule: pause when you need a break, rewind to a moment you missed, and resume watching at your own pace.

Skydrix Desktop · Multiview

See the bigger picture. Keep every channel in view.

Monitor several live channels together in a configurable video grid. Combine channels from multiple Skydrix Pro servers and arrange rows and columns to suit your screen and the number of streams you need to follow.

Choose which channel to listen to while the other tiles remain muted. Expand any tile to fullscreen for a closer look, then return to the grid without losing the overview.

Programme information helps you follow what is on air, while clear unavailable-stream indicators make interruptions easy to spot. Grids support up to 10 × 10 tiles, within your Viewer account limits and the playback capacity of your PC.

Skydrix Desktop + SkydrixDVR · TV archive

The programme has ended. Your viewing doesn't have to.

Open Guide in Skydrix Desktop, find an earlier programme, and play its available recording. Browse by day, channel, or server and search programme titles to find the broadcast you want to revisit.

Behind the Guide, SkydrixDVR is a separate Linux server application that records channel outputs on a dedicated machine. It writes hourly MPEG-TS files with separate indexes for archive navigation and playback on compatible devices.

Configure recording retention per channel to build a rolling TV archive. Archive playback depends on the recordings available within that retention window and the client's support for the DVR integration.
